About CreditCardPayoff.io

Our mission

Credit card debt is confusing by design — variable APRs, compounding daily interest, and minimum payments that barely move the needle. CreditCardPayoff.io exists to make the math transparent. We built a focused set of calculators that answer the questions people actually ask: When will I be debt-free? How much will an extra payment really save me? Should I pay off my smallest balance first, or the one with the highest interest rate?

How our estimates are calculated

Every calculator on this site uses standard amortization math: each month, interest accrues on your remaining balance at your card's annual percentage rate (APR) divided by twelve, and whatever you pay above that interest reduces your principal. We run that simulation forward, month by month, until your balance reaches zero (or flag it if your payment is too low to ever pay it off). The formulas are the same ones used throughout the consumer finance industry — we just make them interactive.

Why the site is free

CreditCardPayoff.io is supported by advertising, which lets us keep every calculator free and signup-free. We don't sell your data, and we don't require an account — every calculation happens in your own browser.

Not financial advice

We're not a bank, lender, or financial advisor. Our tools produce educational estimates based on the numbers you enter; your actual card terms may differ. See our disclaimer for details.
